Château Clinet is a very small property located in Bordeaux’ Right Bank appellation of
Pomerol, positioned on the top of its famous plateau. A fortuitous marriage in the
1980’s put vintner Jean-Michel Arcaute at the helm, and with the assistance of
oenologist Michel Rolland, the estate’s quality has vaulted to match the lofty heights of
the likes of Pétrus, Lafleur and Le Pin.
The tiny 9-hectare vineyard is predominantly
Merlot. One of Pomerol’s finest, this is a must-have for serious collectors. If you wanted
to get an idea of Clinet’s winemaking style, you could try the Ronan by Clinet, a very
approachable offering and one of the best-value Bordeaux on the market.
